Step Change Job Clubs

Step Change Job Clubs is the holistic programme being delivered at Chalkhill Community Centre and funded through a Chalkhill Community Trust Fund Grant. 

This FREE service has been designed to provide information, advice, and guidance to Chalkhill residents from our Black and minoritised communities with small group training in employability, enterprise, and community leadership planned for 2025.

If you are a resident of the Chalkhill area  (Wembley Park, Brent, North London) our Step Change Programme will continue to run till Spring 2025 via our Job Clubs run every Tuesday from Chalkhill Community Centre. Training sessions will be available again in Autumn of 2024 – more information on sessions will be available soon

Who is it for?

To be eligible for the programme you have to be:

  • From a Black, minoritised or racialised community. This includes people of colour including African, Caribbean, Asian and Latin American individuals, dual, and multiple heritage individuals, migrants, and refugees.

If you identify with the above, Step Change is for you.

The free Step Change sessions help participants:

  • Learn new skills for employment or business and/or Social Enterprise start up in a supportive environment
  • Improve work or training prospects
  • Develop social enterprise business plans
  • Apply for jobs
  • Develop community leadership skills
  • Meet and be inspired by peers, trainers, and successful community leaders
  • Gain confidence in public speaking techniques
  • Acquire networking skills through meeting new people, and understanding how to develop contacts
  • Have a say on employment, training & education issues
  • Understand the formal meeting setting
  • Work safely in communities
  • Gain the skills to become a board member of a community or company board

Free one-to-one Job Club Sessions

We are offering free One-to-One Information Advice and Guidance sessions at our Step Change Job Clubs every week to eligible residents of the Chalkhill area (HA9)
